I'm currently transitioning from my previous plastic-heavy and thoughtless consumerism to a more mindful and sustainable beauty regime.
The most effective zero waste swaps you can make in your beauty regime are:
1) replace disposable cotton pads with reusable ones which can be washed and used again and again;
2) replace your usual shampoo, conditioner and body wash which come in plastic containers with packaging-free ones. The local producers which manufacture these "naked bars" are so passionate about their products, spending endless hours of research and testing, to bring you the best formulations;
3) replace your toothpaste tubes with solid tooth tabs so that when you're done, nothing is left behind to dispose of; and
4) ditch the plastic toothbrushes and nylon dental floss for more environmentally friendly options - bamboo toothbrushes and refillable bamboo charcoal dental floss.
I'm heading to Bali for a close friend's wedding, and these are the zero waste beauty products I'll be bringing with me.
Are you planning to make some zero waste changes in your beauty regime? I would love to hear about your journey.
